Matt Schaubroeck is a Venture Engagement Manager at SVG Ventures | THRIVE, where he works closely with founders across THRIVE’s Canadian programs and supports venture engagement, recruitment, and ecosystem development throughout Manitoba’s startup community.

Matt brings over a decade of experience as a founder, operator, and mentor in the innovation space. He is a past founder of clean technology and data company ioAirFlow, which he led as President and CEO through the acquisition of its intellectual property in 2022. Since then he has held a number of executive and consulting roles in early-stage companies – with an emphasis on clean-tech and ag-tech verticals. Matt’s background is in media relations and communications, accolades for which include a CPRS-MB Communicator of the Year award in 2019, and presented a TEDx talk which currently has over 26,000 views.

Deeply embedded in Manitoba’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, Matt has mentored early-stage founders as a Business Advisor with Manitoba Innovates and as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence with North Forge Technology Exchange and Innovate Eastman. He has completed strategic executive projects through volunteer work with Catalyste+ across Canada, as well as Ghana and North Macedonia. He holds an MBA from the Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba and is bilingual in French and English.
